Prosper Tax Help (Austin)
The Tax Help program has closed after the April 18, 2022 filing deadline
We will re-open from mid-June to mid-October 2022 on a walk-in basis at two locations:
Prosper Center – North: 5900 Airport Blvd Austin, TX 78752
Prosper Center – South: 2900 S IH 35 Svc Rd Austin, TX 78704
The schedule for each location will be posted on this site and on our social media pages (@ProsperTaxHelp) in early May.
When we re-open, we can help with:
- Filing and correcting federal income tax returns (current and prior years)
- Accessing the 2021 Child Tax Credit and stimulus checks
- Responding to IRS letters
- Applying for and renewing ITINs

Am I eligible for the Prosper Tax Help program?
Our free high-quality tax preparation service is available to:
– Individuals who earn up to $50,000/year
– Households of 2-4 who earn up to $75,000/year
– Income limit increases by $5,000 for each additional family member

Can I file on my own?
Yes. If you feel comfortable preparing your own tax return, we recommend using MyFreeTaxes.com.
How do I access the expanded Child Tax Credit?

Where’s my refund?
If you electronically filed your return and requested direct deposit, you can expect your refund to arrive 8-21 days after your tax return was filed.
If you filed your return by paper mail and/or did not provide direct deposit information, you can expect your refund to arrive within 4-6 weeks after your tax return was filed.
To check on the status of your refund, go to www.irs.gov and click on “Get Your Refund Status.” You’ll need your tax return handy. Note: The tool can only be used for 2021 tax returns, and not for prior year or state returns.
