To ensure the College Hub at Foundation Communities is doing all we can to protect our community; we are adjusting our service delivery in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Both of our Prosper Centers in Austin will be closed until further notice. We are doing everything we can to remain available to students and community members virtually and apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will share any updates here as soon as they are available.
Our goal at the College Hub is to support those who face barriers to higher education and career readiness, so that all students in Central Texas have the tools to realize their goals – from application to graduation and beyond.
The College Hub is the only place in Austin where all prospective and current college students can receive free help in their journey toward a credential or degree. Work one-on-one with a college coach to apply for college, enroll in classes, explore degree pathways, and complete financial aid and scholarship applications. Whatever it is you need, we’re here to help you succeed!
FINANCIAL AID AND COLLEGE COACHING
The financial aid application for the 2021-2022 school year opens on October 1, 2020. The financial aid priority deadline for many Texas schools is January 15, 2021.
Our bilingual, tax-certified team of college coaches can help you apply for and manage financial aid – including provide support in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) – as well as verification paperwork. We can also help you review your financial aid package and make sure you have a plan to pay for school.
Beyond financial aid, come see us to explore your educational options, navigate the college admissions process, search and apply for scholarships, map out a path to graduation, and connect with resources across Foundation Communities and in the community. We understand that postsecondary education looks different for each student, and we are here to help you create a plan for accomplishing your goals.
Tuesday – Thursday: 10am-7pm
Friday – Saturday: 9am-1pm
Sunday & Monday: CLOSED
NOTE: In order to support the efforts taken across Central Texas to limit the spread of COVID-19, the College Hub offices are closed at this time. Our coaches are available by phone call and by email during our normal business hours.
The Succeed program provides a clear pathway into and through college for students who may face barriers to completing a college degree. Join the year-long program to work one-on-one with a college coach, receive matched savings for tuition, and access a range of support services as you work toward a degree or certificate.
If you are interested in joining Succeed, click here to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis each semester.
Free Minds is a year-long college course in the humanities that gives adults living on low to moderate incomes a chance to harness their intellectual power. Tuition, books, child care and meals on class nights, and supportive services are provided at no cost. Classes are led by some of Austin’s best professors, and students receive six credit hours from Austin Community College upon completion. Free Minds is a chance to take those first steps into the college classroom through a supportive learning community.
