Frequently Asked Questions
What is supportive housing?
FC’s 9 Supportive Housing communities are comprised of efficiency apartments for single adults and offer voluntary services including resource navigation, help with basic needs including household goods & food, access to mental healthcare, medical case management and much more.
When does the waitlist open?
Each property maintains a separate waitlist, however, the Housing Navigator can add someone to any waitlist when it is open. A property’s waitlist is open anytime the number of people on the list drops below 60.
Who can be placed on the waiting list?
Any single adult who needs housing. Case managers, family or friends may also place someone on the waiting list. Only one person can be placed on the list per call.
What if I have bad rental history?
Supportive Housing Communities provide housing opportunities for individuals who have faced barriers or challenges to accessing housing in the past. We do check rental history during the application process, but you will not be denied for previous history of nonpayment of rent or minor damages
What if I have a criminal record?
Likewise, we also check criminal history during the application process. While some communities have slightly different criminal criteria, we generally do not deny for violent felonies older than 6 years, nonviolent felonies older than 2 years or Class A misdemeanors older than 1 year. You can check out each community’s Tenant Selection Criteria on our website.
How long are your waiting lists and how long will it take to get housing?
We maintain a separate waiting list of approximately 100 people at each Supportive Housing community. We cannot estimate the amount of time it will take to get housing as that varies greatly based on a number of factors.
Where can I find out more information about each property?
For detailed information about a specific property, please contact the property itself. Our Housing Navigator can also provide an overview of each property as well as specific waitlist information. You can also check out our website for detailed information about each property.
