For At-Risk/Homeless Families
Children’s HOME Initiative
In order to keep everyone safe during the uncertainty of COVID-19, we will no longer be accepting walk-ins and or application drop offs in person. You can email such documents to email@example.com and or fax: 512-447-9025. Please call our housing line, 512-610-7392 if you have any questions.
Since 2003, our Children’s HOME Initiative (CHI) has helped over 600 families move out of homelessness. This unique program offers even further reduced rents for extremely low-income parents with young children. CHI provides intensive on-site case management services, including employment assistance, in addition to the signature education, financial stability, and health programs we offer at each of our communities.
Currently, Foundation Communities has 140 apartments for CHI families.
CHI families are required to participate in case management services for 24 months and children are given opportunities to engage in enrichment activities through our on-site Learning Centers and CHI specific initiatives.
Minimum Program Qualifications:
Families with children (does not include parents awaiting custody of their children)
One adult (18 years or older) working at least part-time and able to move toward full-time
Family’s total income cannot exceed 30% of Austin’s Median Family Income

Simply visit the Aunt Bertha website, create an account with your email address (it’s free), and complete the screener.
