In an effort to ensure that Austin is a place where people at all income levels can find a place to live, to reduce the number of people living on the streets of the city, and to improve the quality of life for Austinites with more funding for public safety and parks and public health programs, the Austin City Council has placed Proposition Q on the November 4 ballot. In keeping with our proven housing + services model, Foundation Communities has been at the forefront of addressing the housing affordability crisis in Austin, creating affordable and supportive housing with services that help families and individuals find stability and success. So much more needs to be done. That’s why we are asking Austin residents to vote FOR Proposition Q.
On September 5, the Love Austin campaign, which supports the passage of Proposition Q, kicked off at our Laurel Creek Learning Center. Several speakers, including our Executive Director Walter Moreau and Foundation Communities resident Kelas Lloyd spoke at the kickoff. Click on the video below to watch the entire event.
